I have been wanting one of Kendra Haskell’s adorable skirts ever since I discovered her brand, Whimsy, at a craft fair a few years ago. After a fierce winter in Boston, a Whimsy skirt is a refreshing way to welcome spring, and a lovely Mother’s Day gift! (Hoping my kids read this post!)
Kendra combines vibrant fabrics and fun trims to create limited edition skirts for girls (ages 2 -6) and women. She also uses applique in many of her designs, like her Mother’s Day butterfly skirt, and adorable Winged Heart t-shirts.
Kendra is from Scarborough, Maine, where she has lived since she studied at Maine College of Art. After college, Kendra opened Kendra Haskell Millinery where she designed hats until her first child was born–then she began to design children’s items and launched the Whimsy brand. Gradually her products transitioned to girls and women’s fashion as her children grew and Whimsy evolved to what it is today!
Whimsy clothing and accessories are available on the Whimsy web site and Etsy Shop. But I have to tell you that the very best way to see the full range of greatness is to visit Kendra at one of the many craft fairs Kendra participates in around the New England area. Kendra’s craft fair schedule is here–check back often for new venues!
I hope Kendra’s festive skirts will brighten your day today! If you do not see exactly what you want on Kendra’s Etsy site, feel free to contact her to find out what she has in stock, as her inventory is constantly changing as she prepares for upcoming craft fairs. Also, don’t forget to check her schedule of shows to find out when you can visit these beauties in person!
