This week I am pulling together the things that I love the most from my favorite designers, and pairing them with Cheeky Monkey Home pillows. Turquoise is fresh and vibrant, and I think it is especially beautiful set off by a warm beige-grey (“greige”). As you can see, a strong color identity can be all you need to unify a huge range of style and texture in your decor.
I love Caitlin Wilson’s textiles and home decor. She is amazingly talented, successful and prolific (and so young!). Her newest collection of rugs seem inspired by her international travel, and I love how they pair with so many Cheeky Monkey designs. I have also been eyeing everything in the new Serena & Lily catalogue, and especially this gorgeous Palmetto wallpaper! It feels rich, Indian, and very handmade to me.
This weekend Cheeky Monkey was in Marblehead for the beautiful and inspiring Marblehead Festival of the Arts, showcasing 35 very special artisans. I was honored to be among so many great makers, and in particular the textile designs by Tröskö! Tröskö is the creation of Solvejg Makaretz—a lovely Scandinavian designer living and working in Yarmouth, ME.

As an architect with roots in Denmark and Sweden, Solvejg’s patterns have a fresh Scandinavian flair, with clean lines and a touch of whimsy. She creates all of her own patterns, and sews them in her Yarmouth studio. I just love the way her collections mix and match so beautifully together. (more…) →
As we gear up for our holiday shows, I am previewing some of my favorite collections at Cheeky Monkey Home. This is our joyful Land Ho’ collection, featuring Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Cape Cod on both pillows and stacking floor cushions.

I love nautical color combinations, and I think pretty much anything paired with navy blue and white looks striking. Our new 2014 collection will feature some beautiful blue and white designs that I am very excited about sharing with you! Here are a few more of our nautical designs that group nicely together or on their own. (more…) →
Every so often I get a custom order for a pillow that makes me want to hug my client. This camp pillow was a housewarming gift for a family with a classic Maine “camp”, where generations come together and enjoy all the outdoor activities that New England has to offer.

This adorable patch idea was the genius of my client, who is brilliantly creative and fun in all of her endeavors. She wanted to represent all of the great Maine camp activities with patches, much like we got as girl scouts long ago! Isn’t this just the cutest, classic gift idea? (more…) →
I was recently commissioned to make this custom pillow based on a painting by artist, Dean Crumlish, where he portrays his visions of southwest buffalo spirits. Here is a photo of the painting he sent me. (more…) →
